The 2025 League season

As 2025 draws to a close, we look back at what was an eventful year for the Southern league clubs. The National Arena Swimming League is very special and gives a unique opportunity to all the swimmers. Thank you to all of you for your support and enthusiasm.
The Southern league owes an immense debt to Kathy Hook, who organised this year’s galas, booking the pools, lining up the referees and starters, produced the gala line ups (all 39 galas, involving over 150 officials), processing the results promptly together with Brian Smith who also posts the results to Rankings, before creating the next round of galas. It’s the unexpected things that crop up – like moving a gala to a new pool with 48 hours notice.
To the rest of the team – Jan Annan (Chairman), Peter Harris (Treasurer), Jonathan Mills (website) – Thank you for being part of the team that makes it all happen behind the scenes.
It’s great to see that we have 5 teams from the Southern League into national finals, both galas at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Smethwick.
- Guildford City SC and Wycombe District SC at the Cup Final on March 8th, 2026
- Bromley SC, RTW Monson SC and Woking SC representing us at the Plate Final Saturday March 7th, 2026
As we look forward to 2026, the composition of the league is published on the draws page. – noting that this does not take into account any clubs that withdrawn from the league in 2026, nor any newcomer clubs or teams. Congratulations to the teams who were promoted; Commiserations to those that found themselves going down.
